We are now offering a fall spot and stalk bear hunt in a non baiting zone in Alberta. This area can not be baited so there is no resident or non resident pressure. We own the only private in a zone 100 miles by 100 miles of solid bush country. Every year we shoot a few bears in the field at our lodge. This hunt has been absolutely 100% kill for any hunter lucky enough for a tag. This can be an archery or rifle hunt. For the best fall bear hunt in Alberta give us a try. You may need to plan a couple years in advance or wait for a cancellation for this hunt.

I also work with 2 different outfitters on baited hunts with openings each year.

To book your hunt with us or to get more information, please send us an email or visit our website.

Ells River Black Bear Outfitting specializes in spring bear hunting only. Our goal is to create memories that will last a lifetime by providing a top quality hunting experience, comfortable accommodations, excellent food and the chance to meet and make new friends.

The 2008 spring season was very successful with 10 clients taking 17 bears, with a huge color bear weighing 400lbs and squaring 6 1/2 ft. The largest bear of the spring was a monster that weighed in at 500lbs and squared 7ft!

Ells River Black Bear Outfitting's hunting area (~1753 sq Km) is located in the Boreal forest of northern Alberta, northwest of Fort McMurry and south of the largest national park in Canada, Wood Buffalo. Due to winter time oil exploration, new areas previously inaccessible, and never before hunted are now being hunted by Ells River Black Bear Outfitting. Due to the remoteness and lack of local hunting pressure and a carefully managed harvest many bears in my area live to the age needed to produce Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett class trophies and weigh between 400 and 500 lbs.

Spring bear hunting is over baits, with a two bear limit. Bears range in color from black to blond and colored bears make up approximately 20 - 30% of the population. All stands are within 25 yards of the baits. Baits are monitored daily.

Ells River Black Bear Outfitting will only take four hunters per hunt allowing a hunter to have access to more baits with minimal hunting pressure, resulting in a great opportunity at that trophy bear. Our hunting camps are accessible by ATV only. The base and spike camp both consist of large comfortable heated cabins with beds, a large cook house and outside showers. Hunting is alternated between the 2 camps thus limiting hunting pressure on one area. Meals are home cooked with a varied menu and are down right good.

To book a hunt you will never forget with Ells River Black Bear Outfitting contact us for more information.

Willow Creek Outfitters is located in southern Alberta and we offer hunts for mule deer, whitetail and black bear. Our black bear hunts take place in the foothills region of southwestern Alberta. This is a spot and stalk hunt where we will hunt on large private ranches and also in the forest reserve.

Our black bear hunts will take place from the end of April until the middle of May. At this time the bear's hide are in prime condition and are rarely rubbed. On this hunt we hope to have the client hold out for a trophy 6 foot plus boar. About 30% of the bears in this area are color phased. We will hunt using pickup truck and fourwheeler. Hiking on foot will also be required in certain areas to get to a good vantage point to glass and for the final stalk to get within shooting distance. We only take a few hunters for the spring bear hunt and will be the only outfitter operating in this area. If you really want to hunt a bear and not just wait for one to show up at a bait come join us on this exciting spot & stalk hunt. This is fair chase hunting at its finest!

I live in the heart of our hunting area which allows me to do extensive scouting and get access to key hunting areas. I will be doing some of the guiding myself along with a few other competent guides. We pick guides that we know will deliver a quality experience to our clients. Our knowledge of the black bear country will put the odds in your favor at harvesting a fine trophy.

We will provide you with a hunt of a lifetime that will create long lasting memories and will strive to find you a true trophy and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

   Trophy Book Outfitters
     Dan & Leona Hungle
     (780) 962-6322

hunting outfitters trophy pictures
We offer baited trophy black bear hunts with a 2 bear limit in prime bear country and excellent success rates. Baiting allows the hunter a close encounter which is ideally suited for the archery and muzzleloader hunter. Rifle hunters are also welcome.

The area has a reputation of having a very high number of bears and consistently produces many large book bears each year. This area has a 2 bear limit. Our hunting area has no resident hunting pressure that we are aware of. This limited hunting pressure keeps our bear population high with plenty of undisturbed bears.

Our baits are set up for shots at 10-20 yards. All of our baits are strategically placed in prime black bear habitat to attract a large number of bears and of course very large bears. Our baits are spread over an area of about 50 miles. This ensures that we attract many bears to each site and they are not over harvested.

In 2005 we had 30 hunters in all and they harvested 40 bears with about 30% of them being big enough to make the P&Y record book. We also took 7 colored bears with the biggest being a blonde boar scoring over 19 1/2". That is a lot of bear action!

Our modern tent camp is situated beside a beautiful small lake, which consists of wall tents, and excellent home cooked meals are provided. A special feature is our shower house that has unlimited supply of hot and cold pressurized water. We like to keep our camp small and personalized with normally not more than 4 hunters in camp at one time to provide you with the attention and service you need to have a truly great hunt.

We pride ourselves in being experienced and credible hunting outfitters and guides, providing the maximum effort to our clients. Join us for a magnificent hunting experience.

Join Double Diamond Wilderness Trails along the famous Athabasca River in WMU 531 bordering the Wood Buffalo National Park and hunt areas never before hunted. This country is bearadise and with a a high density of black bears each hunter is allowed to harvest two bears. We operate during the month of May and there is only 4 hunters in camp per week. Camp consists of wall tents & wood stoves with 2 hunters per tent, hot showers, and fabulous home cooking.

This is a bait hunt using archery, muzzle loader, rifle, or cross bows and all stands are situated 15 yards from the bait site. This is a remote hunt, camp and all bait stations are only accessible by 4x4 ATV’s. We are very particular on the bears we harvest and if you are looking to harvest just a bear this is not the place for you. We only harvest large mature bears, that square 6’4” or better and some bears will push the 8’ mark and score in the mid 20” range. We are so confident that we will put you on a big bear.

We offer hunts for 2 hunters per guide where the guide sits with you and judges the bears so there are no mistakes. This 1 on 1 hunt allows the guide to video the trophy being harvested.

If you do not shoot a bear we do not make money, we WILL put you on a trophy bear!!!!!

Please give us a call with any questions or concerns. We look forward to hearing from you and customizing a hunt with Double Diamond Wilderness Trails to make it a trip of a lifetime. Happy Hunting.

Our Spring Bear hunts are a great time to get away, enjoy a relaxing hunt and see a lot of trophy bears. The chance of getting a nice bear is very good. We have killed many bears between 7 and 8 feet, our best being over 8 feet. We run our bear hunts from a tent camp northeast of Peace River, Alberta. This is a two bear zone with many color phased bears ranging from blond, cinnamon, chocolate to black and many trophy bears.

Bear hunts take place in the late afternoons and evenings from ground blinds and tree stands. In Alberta there are approximately eighteen hours of daylight at this time of the year, so shooting light does not end until 10:30 - 11:30pm. You can expect your shots to be 20-50 yards with a rifle and 16-25 yards for bow hunters. All hunting is done over bait sites which have been set up in advance.

Our bear camp offers many conveniences to make your outdoor experience more comfortable. Our camp is entirely self-contained, with wood heated sleeping tents for two, a large cooking/eating tent with a stainless steel kitchen, all the conveniences a cook could wish for. Electric lights and a propane heated shower. We do all we can to provide comfortable accommodation even in the remote area we hunt.

We would love to speak with you about our hunts and the dates we have available. Call our toll free number or visit our website.

This is an excellent time to book a trophy black bear hunt during the spring and fall hunting season. With a 2 Bear limit, low hunting pressure and a dense bear population you can expect 100% opportunity on both bears most over 6 feet.

You will be hunting along the Smoky or Torrens River areas in the Northern boreal forests of Alberta. All of our hunts take place along active & abandoned logging/oil roads, as well as mountain trails & meadows. We limit our camps to a maximum of 4 hunters per season in each area. This limit ensures that the area is not overhunted and maintains a friendly, family type atmosphere. All of our hunts include licenses for wolf & coyote. Mule Deer can be added to a limited number of fall hunts.

Our camp consists of warm, comfortable wall tents with gas/wood heat and new cots for your comfort. There is also a hot shower available with plenty of water on hand.

We are family owned and operated and our experienced local guides and excellent cook will provide you with a hunt that will exceed your every expectation. Also available on your hunting trip are other activities such as White Water Rafting Adventures, Mountain Lake Fishing and Scenic ATV Tours.

To book a hunting adventure you won’t forget or get additional info please email or call us at anytime.

We provide top quality bear hunts to clients who want a trophy bear and a thrilling and fun hunting vacation. We hunt during prime time seasons only in the spring and fall. I am able to offer you an average success of 175% with opportunities even higher. Bears over 500 pounds and rugs to near 9 feet are not uncommon in my area. The average will run from 250 to 350 pounds and rugs of 6.5 feet to 7.5 feet.

In my 2 bear area I also offer a choice of hunts, baited and non-baited and with rifle or bow. Non-baited hunts are over clover patches, which is a preferred food yet not considered as bait. Combine this with hunting in the well-known Peace River region and you have the best with the best. Now add an outfitter since 1975 with local and experienced guides who will give you more than the 100% you deserve and your trophy is almost certain.

Our hunting camp designed for comfort and hunting. Heated cabins with bunks and mattresses, a hot water shower, a cookhouse with a cook and great food all in a spacious setting. For added spice an evening campfire will be blazing for those who wish to trade tales of their days events.

I care about you and your hunt so I don’t take endless numbers of hunters in over hunted areas. My permits are limited giving everyone excellent chances at tagging the trophy of their dreams.

The Black Bears in our hunting area have been found to be some of the largest in Alberta. The largest Black Bear ever recorded in Alberta recently came from our hunting area. Two years in a row, our clients have won the Outfitters award for the largest Black Bear taken by a non-resident hunter. We also have one of the highest percentages of the brown color phase, ranging from a dark chocolate color to pure blonde.

We offer a variety of Black Bear hunts. During the spring (May/June), when the bears are first out of their dens, we hunt both baited and spot and stalk with bow, muzzleloader, or rifle. Their fur at this time is thick and long. Most of the hunting occurs over baits, but spot and stalk hunts can be arranged. In the fall(late Aug/Sept) we can hunt baited or spot and stalk. At this time the bears are feeding to fatten themselves up for the for a long winters sleep. Their fur is shiny and thick at this time.

It is a two bear limit area, so the opportunity to take two bears is available. The two bear limit has allowed us to maintain a kill percentage of about 175%. Unlike other areas in Alberta and North America, the bugs are not as prevalent. We have almost no Black Flies and our Mosquitoes can be tolerated easily.

Make your dream hunt a reality. As an avid hunter myself, I am experienced enough to make your hunt both successful and enjoyable. I enjoy working hard and look forward to providing opportunities for trophy Black Bear.

If a quality Black Bear hunt is what you want, please give us a call so we can provide more information.

We realize that your hunt is not only about taking the animal of a lifetime but to feel welcome and have fun, stay in comfortable clean accommodations and eat well. None of us would expect anything less on an outfitted hunt. You can be sure everything is taken care of with Garrett Bros. We are a very close family and everything we do, we do as a family, whether it be hunting & fishing, maintaining machinery, building tree stands, hauling gear getting ready for the springs hunt or just messing around. Lorne’s wife Cecilia, Pat’s wife Brandie and Brian’s wife Stacey all enjoy being in the great outdoors and help out with everything right from the paperwork to the welding and mechanical stuff to the baiting and skinning of the bears. Everyone helps out to get the job done.

Fly in Bear Camp
Located 150 kms north of Fort McMurray this is our most remote bear camp. All of the hunting in this camp is done with four wheel drive ATV’s. Our tent camp is very comfortable with wood stoves for heat & drying clothes, wood floors, comfy cots, a shower with an actual hot water tank and pressure pump and electricity.

All of our bait sites are hunted out of tree stands or in the case of the tricky bears ground blinds may be used if the guide and hunter decide to go that route. Our stands are set up so that bow hunters will have no more than a 30 yard shot at a bear that is at the bait site, most are around 20 to 30 yards. The bears in this area are huge with many Pope & Young bears, good number of color phase bears from blonde to cinnamon to black with white blazes. This camp is so remote that the chance of seeing another hunter besides the guys in your camp is slim to none.

River Boat Bear Camp
Our River boat camp is located 60 kms (40 miles) up the Clearwater river in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, in a very remote location. That afternoon you will be hunting out of one of our tree stands over a well-established bait site. We use river boats, duck boats and aluminum fishing boats to get to and from the bait sites.

Our River boat camp on the Clearwater River was a great success this year. We took 38 bears with 26 hunters. Of the 38 bears taken 9 are over 18 inch and 4 of the 9 were over 20 inch. We have just acquired more new boats and ATV’s and with the addition of a few baits on top of the river ridge this upcoming spring is looking great for more massive record book bears.

We have never had anyone go home without seeing multiple bears and every year bears are taken in the 7 foot 400
pound range. There is a reason so many hunters rebook with us, we have great guides, we have great cooks, we know how to treat people, we run only the best equipment and we know how to find bears.

Experience a hunt of a lifetime in remote northern Alberta.Hunt over bait with 200% success on a 2 bear limit. Accommodations are very comfortable in this isolated camp, complete with an on staff cook. Experienced guides are always at hand. Archery hunters enjoy an excellent ratio of P&Y bears often reaching 8ft.

Each hunter is licensed to harvest two bears. If time permits, there are a variety of other activities to pursue. Wildlife observation, fishing, Trap line adventures and wolf hunting are exciting additions to this thrilling adventure.

Baited Bear
Hunting over baits is a very successful way to harvest bears. To date we have achieved 200% success on a 2 bear quota. Archer and rifle hunters enjoy the same spectacular harvest ratio. The days are long in the spring and hunting only takes place in the evening

Spot and Stalk Bear Hunts
Spot and stalk is definitely an exciting hunt. We hunt off of logging roads until a bear is spotted, then stalk it to within range. Baiting is not allowed in areas because grizzlies are present. Areas like this yield some very good quality black bears.

Be sure to contact us for more information or to book your next black bear hunt with us.

   North Star Outfitting

Hunt big bruin blacks and colored bears, no bugs, 5 star lodge, eat like a king and sleep like a rock - that's what you can expect when you hunt with North Star Outfitting!

We take 24 bears hunters with about 5-6 hunters per week in ranch country just north of the rich farmland where the food is very plentiful. We are the furthest southeast bear outfitters along the Saskachewan border. Our area is not swamp land so we are not in the bug belt you might say, as the hunters here very rarely use any kind of mosquito or black fly repellent until the last week of may.

Our area we hunt is about 500,000 acres. I own 90% of the permits in this area so therefore I hold the key to manage this area. I have 50% color phase and 25% of our bears harvested are over 7ft. We have a 2 bear per hunter quota but I only allow you to harvest 1 - 6 ft colored and the other must be black if you choose to harvest the 2nd bear. I push my hunters to only harvest the very best in size, hide and only boars. You will see between 4-8 bears in a evening and in a full week you will see up towards of 30-40 bears.

Our season runs from the 15th of April until the 15th of June. All our hunts are over bait with bait sites at a minimum of 4 miles apart and with shooting distances from stands for bow hunters at 20-25 yds. and rifle hunters from 50-100 yards. I feed the bears as much as possible and I do not limit them to how much they can eat. I believe that if the meal is easy to obtain they will continue to return on a regular basis.

Every one thinks hunting bears over bait is like shooting fish in a barrel, well if it was only about killing that might be the case. But harvesting a trophy bear takes careful placement of stands to outsmart the trophy bears we want. Most trophy bears are at least 7 years old or older so you can imagine how many times this bear has come to know how to eat every well and be safe doing so.

I have the same guides year to year with knowledge of the area and are very perceptive to scent control around our stands. 100% owner operator, I am hands on outfitter / guide. Be sure to read our black bear hunter testimonials on our website! Come hunt with us and you will not be disappointed.

   Mike's Outfitting Ltd.
     Mike Ukrainetz

hunting outfitters trophy pictures
Mike's Outfitting Ltd. is an Alberta big game hunting outfit owned and operated by Mike & Jen Ukrainetz.

What do you get on a spring black bear hunt with Mike's Outfitting?

  • A fantastic opportunity to take a 300 to 500 lb. Bear with a big, record book skull.
  • Locations where 6 foot, 200 plus lb. bears are average.
  • Great genetics for Boone & Crockett qualifying 21" skulls.
  • A very high bear population area - see as many as 30 different bears in a week.
  • A 2 bear limit.
  • 25% color phased bears.

We have been doing very successful bear hunts in this area since 1992 and we have taken dozens of huge bodied, record book bears. Many of them have been shot in just the last few years. It is a very productive zone with the mighty Peace River drainage bordering two sides of it. The lush woods, farmland and high population of big game animals gives plenty for the bears to eat and grow to an impressive size. There is also very limited black bear hunting pressure so I see no sign of the quality of hunting slowing down.

This is a spring bait hunt where you will be hunting well scouted, bait sites that have been set up well in advance of your hunt. All the baits are set up for a 15 to 20 yard shot, making it perfect for bowhunters and no problem for rifle hunters. We use a variety of bait including beef and pork scraps, beavers and sometimes cookies, donuts or other sweets. All of it is put in a barrel and the baits are cribbed with logs so you are given a perfect broadside shot as soon as the bear hits the bait.

Our area also has a large population of wolves. Every hunter gets a wolf license included in the hunt cost and there is a probably a 25% to 50% chance that a wolf will visit your bait.

If you are interested in this a black bear hunt you can give Mike a call or send him an email. Please be sure to visit our photo gallery and website!

Northern Adventure Hunts offers spring or fall black bear hunts in the remote wilderness of northern Alberta Canada.
Spring or fall, baited or spot and stalk, bears are sure to provide their fair share of fun and excitement for any hunter. Whether you’re watching a mother bear send her cubs up a tree to safety or taking aim at a big old boar as he feeds in the bait pile only a few yards from your stand.

Our Black Bear hunts are done in several areas of Alberta such as Wildlife Management Units 525 and 526 along the Alberta - British Columbia border and also in several of our Moose hunting areas. These are remote wilderness areas with little hunting pressure and a good population of bears. There is a two bear limit for each licence purchased.

We use ATV’s to get to the prime areas for bears and hunt from tree stands or ground blinds for baited hunts and do some walking for the spot and stalk hunts. The terrain is mostly flat and not physically demanding.

Our areas produce trophy bears in black and other color phases ranging from blonde to chocolate brown.

Spring bear season is open from the middle of April to the middle of June with the month of May being the most successful hunting time. Our success rate is 100% for the first bear with good size trophies taken.

Our black bear hunting camp is done from a comfortable tent camp equipped with wood heaters, cots and great meals provided by our camp cook. We strive to provide our clients with a great hunting experience.

Once a good bear is spotted, we plan our stalk. If you have the need for an adrenaline rush, try stalking or calling-in a hungry bear! Some areas allow for baiting and this method may be used. Extensive scouting allows us to ensure your hunt will be a success.

Our goal is to provide you with the hunting adventure of a lifetime. We specialize in working with you to fulfill your hunting dream. We use a wide range of new modern equipment and strive to make your adventure a success. Please do not hesitate to contact us as I am sure we can work together to make your hunting dream a reality.
