This year we have had the chance to expand
our whitetail hunts into one of the premium trophy whitetail zones
of Alberta. In the past this zone has only had very limited opportunity
for hunters outside of the province, producing some impressive bucks.
In 2008 there were 2 bucks taken over 190 inches, and previous to
this there was a buck taken from this zone that scored 208 inches.
This is in the North Peace River Region, and is approximately 1600
square miles in size. It is a sparsely populated area with mostly
grain farming along with some hay the balance of the zone is wooded
crown land, about a 50/50 split. This mix should make for good habitat,
providing the ingredients for sustainable trophy whitetails. We have
exclusive rights for the non resident and non resident alien whitetail
hunters. |

Mule
Deer Hunts
Our mule deer hunts are
conducted in Southern Alberta area. This zone is well known for big
mule deer bucks and we feel very fortunate that we have some allocations
in this WMU. We have a very good mule deer population here with good
habitat and few predators. Our mule deer hunts are a lot of fun for
our hunters because most people cannot believe how many deer they
will see while on their hunt. It is not a strenuous hunt and can be
enjoyed by all ages. Most years we will harvest mule deer in the 170
class with possibilities to take bucks that will score into the 180’s
or better. Once again while you are on your hunt you will stay in
a comfortable hunting cabin on our farm and eat our delicious home
cooked meals. These hunts are 6 hunting days and the rifle season
opens November 1-30. |

Whitetail
Deer Hunting
If you are interested in a combo hunt
with either a moose or a mule deer our Southern area hunts may be
what you are looking for. We have a healthy population of both whitetail
deer and mule deer. Taking a whitetail buck in the 150 inch class
is very possible; we have taken some into the 160’s. There was
a buck taken in the high 170’s in this zone this past fall. Most
of the hunting in this zone is done on private land, we own quite
a bit, and have access on many other good parcels.

Moose
Hunting
Our moose hunts are conducted in the Southern
zone along with our whitetail and mule deer hunts. We will be looking
at expanding these hunts to offer another option for our hunters in
the Northern Alberta Zone. Our moose hunts can either be during the
rut in archery season, or in November during rifle season. These are
primarily Canada moose and they will average about 36 inches, we took
a 44 inch Moose in 2007 and a 40 inch Moose with a bow in 2008. We
will see some moose that will approach 50 inches but that is good
for our area. This hunt can also be taken in combination with a whitetail
deer if you desire. We can also customize your hunt and lengthen it
more than the usual 6 days if you wish to spend a little more time
on both species. |
